Grand Turk is the capital of the Turks and Caicos. Grand Turk is six miles in length and a little more than a mile wide. A channel at the northern point of the island gives access to a hurricane shelter for yachts traveling to and from Puerto Rico and the Bahamas. The island may be small in size but it is big in good traditional food.
The Secret Garden at the Salt Raker Inn is open seven days a week for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Island favorites such as grouper, conch and lobster are their specialty.
The Sandbar is an open air restaurant that sits on a deck above the beach overlooking the sea. The ambiance is casual and is a social hub for both locals and tourists.
For an international dining experience on Grand Turk, try Turk’s Head Mansion Restaurant. This historic mansion turned restaurant features dishes created by their talented Zimbabwean chef. The menu changes regularly but the food is always creative and delicious.
